MANILA--Donovan Smith announced his return to the PBA with a dominating performance to lead Converge to a 130-103 demolition of Phoenix on Sunday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Pitted already against his former team in his first game as Kylor Kelley's replacement, Smith dominated against a Fuel Master side forced to play all-Filipino due to James Dickey's ankle injury.
Smith finished with 32 points on 12-of-20 field goals, including 10-of-14 on two-pointers, 12 rebounds, and three blocks for Converge, now a half-game behind Magnolia and San Miguel for the last two quarterfinal spots at 4-6.
Alec Stockton added 16 points, three rebounds, two assists, and one block off the bench, while Balti Baltazar added a perfect game of 15 points on 6-for-6 shooting, 14 rebounds, and one assist.
Ricci Rivero put up 26 points, six rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block for Phoenix, which dropped to 5-4 despite only committing five turnovers.
