MANILA--Phoenix got out of its mini-slump midway into the PBA Commissioner's Cup eliminations by clobbering Blackwater, 125-108, on Friday night at the Ynares Center 2 in Rodriguez, Rizal.
James Dickey led the charge for the Fuel Masters with a monster game that nearly ended in a rare 5x5.
Dickey finished with 27 points on 10-of-13 shooting, 26 points, five assists, three blocks, and three steals as they gradually obliterated the Bossing, still reeling from their blown chances to stun the TNT Tropang 5G on Tuesday night.
Jason Perkins also had a solid night with 25 points on 10-of-14 field goals, four rebounds, and one assist, while Ken Tuffin put up 20 points on four threes, seven rebounds, and three assists to complement Dickey for Phoenix, which snapped back-to-back losses and moved up to 4-3.
Rob Upshaw had another 36-point blast with nine rebounds and one steal, while Sedrick Barefield added 27 points, two rebounds, and two assists for Blackwater, which remained winless under interim head coach Pat Aquino and fell to 1-6 for the conference.
