PBA: Behind monster Q3, SMB whips Titan Ultra

MANILA—San Miguel used a third-quarter explosion to cripple Titan Ultra 143-105 in their PBA Governors' Cup battle on Wednesday night at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

The Beermen pulled away the moment they returned to the floor after the halftime break, outscoring the Giant Risers 49-23 in the third period to virtually ice the game.

George King led SMB, which bounced back from its first loss of the conference against NLEX and moved up to 4-1, with 35 points on 11 of 17 shooting, including 2 of 3 on fours, eight rebounds, eight assists, two steals, and two blocks.

Jerrick Ahanmisi added 26 points on 10-for-15 field goals, including 5-for-10 from long range and a perfect 5-for-5 inside the three-point arc, and three assists.

Don Trollano led the Beermen's second unit with 22 points on 9 of 13 field goals, five rebounds, and two assists.

Joshua Munzon led Titan Ultra, which dropped to the bottom of Group A at 1-5, with 25 points on 10-for-17 shooting, including 3 of 5 on threes, six rebounds, five assists, and two steals.
