QUEZON CITY—TNC turned things around right after Aurora Gaming Philippines' Kyle "Koyl" Reyes secured the last Lord of their MPL Philippines first-round series and succeeded in a Game 3-deciding team fight to steal a 2-1 win on Sunday night at the Victoria Sports Tower.
While Reyes seemed to have preserved Aurora PH's lead by pressing the Retribution just in time, Nowee "Ryota" Macasa sneaked in and activated the Wrath of Dyrad, instantly taking down three of Reyes' teammates.
Reyes infiltrated TNC's base, but Macasa and his teammates returned home in time to stop Reyes' potential endable push, leaving only Dylan "Light" Catipon, playing as Rafaela, alone to defend Aurora PH's base.
Justine "Zaida" Palma managed to score a kill on Rafaela, paving the way for Jomari "Jowm" Pingol to complete the comeback push.
TNC joins Team Liquid Philippines and AP Bren in a tie for third place at 1-1 as Week 1 of Season 18 came to a close.
Aurora PH, on the other hand, dropped to 0-2 as its quest to qualify for the M8 World Championship so it can defend the title there hit an early snag.
