MANILA—Blackwater stunned Phoenix with a fourth-quarter turnaround to take a 106-100 win in their PBA Governors' Cup second-round meeting on Wednesday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Responding to a slow third quarter where they were outscored 15-27, the Bossing struck back at the Fuel Masters with a 29-14 final frame to steal the win.
The deciding moment was an 11-0 run within the last three and a half minutes where Blackwater regained the lead for good at 103-93.
Kentrell Barkley led the Bossing, who snapped a three-game losing streak and moved back up to .500 at 3-3, with 34 points, 16 rebounds, three assists, one steal, and two blocks.
Sedrick Barefield added 26 points, three rebounds, and three assists.
BJ Johnson exploded for 45 points on 16-for-30 shooting, including 8 of 15 from deep, with seven rebounds and two assists, but it was not enough to lift the Fuel Masters as they dropped to a tie with the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters on top of Group B at 4-2.
