MANDALUYONG—William Navarro confirmed on Friday that he launched an appeal for him to suit up for the remainder of the PBA Governors' Cup.
Navarro is affected by the new PBA free agency rule that bars him from playing in the league for three years after he signed with Busan in the KBL just two months after he was traded to Magnolia.
"Nag-appeal ako. I'm just waiting for what they're gonna say," Navarro said.
Right now, though, the six-foot-six forward said that he has yet to plot his next career move after the Egis eventually waived him.
Navarro also said that there are no offers from other international teams.
For now, Navarro is making the most out of his short-term call-up to Strong Group Athletics for the upcoming Jones Cup in Taipei.
"Right now, dito lang ako. Focus lang sa SGA. After dito, I don't know what's gonna happen. Anything can happen, so I'm just gonna prepare for this moment," he further said during the team's open practice at the Activate Hoop Arena.
However, Navarro said that he will immediately sign with Titan Ultra if the PBA grants him the clearance.
"Tanggalin nila yun, magbabalik ako," he continued.
In a rare moment between two players who are not in the PBA at all, the Hotshots traded Navarro's PBA rights to the Giant Risers for the rights to Seoul SK Knight Arvin Tolentino.
Curiously enough, NorthPort, Titan Ultra's predecessor, was the one that sent Navarro to Magnolia, meaning the Purefoods franchise technically traded him back to his original team.
