QUEZON CITY—Team Falcons outlasted Aurora Gaming Philippines in an instant classic Game 3 to take a 2-1 win in the final match of the MPL Philippines Season 18 first round on Sunday night at the Victoria Sports Tower.

In the longest game of the season and the fifth longest all time, Team Falcons finally got its finishing blow after ganking Dominic "Domeng" Del Mundo at the top lane while he was defending it.

Kenneth "Yue" Tadeo would resurrect Del Mundo right after, but it opened an opportunity for Falcons to put more pressure on Aurora PH during the Lord dance.

Falcons got three kills in the final Lord fight, taking down Del Mundo, Nathanael "Nathzz" Estrologo, and Kyle "Koyl" Reyes, leaving only Tadeo and Dylan "Light" Catipon to defend the bare Aurora PH base.

After killing Tadeo, Falcons still tried to slow the game down in what seemed like a bid to move up the history book.

In the end, Falcons secured the match winner in 39 minutes and 37 seconds, three seconds shy of the fourth longest game ever.

Team Falcons moved up to a tie at the top of the standings with Team Liquid Philippines at 6-1 to end the first round.

Team Falcons will get the luxury of a breather as Week 5 will be a bye week for the team with only Twisted Minds to face on Saturday night.

Aurora PH, on the other hand, saw its three-match winning streak snapped and dropped to 3-4, tying TNC for fifth place.
