QUEZON CITY—The MPL Philippines is set to become "ULTRA special" come October as the PhilSports Arena in Pasig will host the premier esports league's postseason festivities.
MPL PH made the announcement on Saturday night during its tripleheader at the Victoria Sports Tower here.
This marks the third straight season that a major indoor arena will become the "champion's arena" for the MPL PH Playoffs after the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay in Season 16 and the FilOil Centre in San Juan City in Season 17.
Staying true to the Philippine Sports Commission's mission to bring as many non-basketball events as possible to the 10,000-seater venue, the MPL PH Playoffs will be the third major non-basketball tournament to be played at the arena formerly known as "The ULTRA" since 2025, after the FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup and the Volleyball Nations League.
The arena, though, reopened its doors to basketball lately, hosting NCAA and UNTV Cup games.
