Stags get back on winning track with rout of Pirates

By Dugout Philippines

The San Sebastian Golden Stags whipped the Lyceum Pirates, 82-66, in a battle of eliminated NCAA teams at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan City.

The Stags opened the game with a hot run, taking a 28-16 cushion after the first frame.

They eventually pushed the lead up to as high as 23, 59-36, in the third quarter.

The Pirates tried to claw back into the game in the fourth quarter but could only trim the lead to as low as ten as the Stags held on at the final buzzer.

C.J. Perez made 25 points, nine rebounds, and two steals for San Sebastian, which snapped a ten-game losing streak dating back to the first round.

Bradwyn Guinto added a double-double of 18 markers and 13 boards.

Jerb Bulawan led Lyceum, who just knocked out of contention following Perpetual Help's forfeiture win against EAC earlier in the day, with 13 points and six rebounds.
