Yaya Dub will not be PBA muse says Fagar

By Ivan Saldajeno

MANILA--In an earlier broadcast of Eat Bulaga, Sen. Tito Sotto joked to his fellow hosts that despite Ginebra and Mahindra extending their offers in tapping Maine "Yaya Dub" Mendoza as their muse for the PBA opening on Oct. 18, her "master", Lola Nidora played by Wally Bayola, is barring her from doing so.

It turned out, it was partly not kayfabe.

Malou Fagar, the producer of GMA's top-rating noontime program, confirmed in an interview on 24 Oras on Friday night that Mendoza will not be available for the PBA opening.

Fagar even effectively doused cold water on the hopes of the other ten PBA clubs and their fans to have the internet celebrity as their muse as Fagar said that Mendoza will not be the muse for any team.

San Miguel Sports director Alfrancis Chua, the governor of Ginebra in the PBA Board, broke the bad news to the Ginebra fans on Saturday night.

"Mga ka-barangay, nag-try [ang] management ng Ginebra. Buong puwersa kami para sa request niyo kay Yaya Dub [Mendoza]. Ayaw talaga ng Eat Bulaga," tweeted Chua.
