MANILA--It seems like the RomYu "Gilas Serye" already came to an end when Gilas' campaign in the Jones Cup concluded.
Jenny Yu, the Taiwanese reporter who became an overnight sensation because of her interviews with Terrence Romeo, doused cold water on the PBA fans' clamor of an "extension" of the Gilas Serye in the Master Gameface MVP Cup.
"Unfortunately, I couldn't make it to Manila for the MVP Cup due to work issues," Yu posted the bad news on Monday night on her Facebook page.
Despite announcing that she will miss the final pocket tournament of both Gilas and Chinese Taipei before the FIBA Asia Championship, Yu still thanked her new-found Filipino fans and even said that she will visit the Philippines soon.
Yu said, "I'm very glad [that I] received lots of love and support from Philippine fans. I'll definitely put Manila on top of my future travel list!"
Yu's interviews with Romeo, who became an instant star in Taiwan, have been trending topics among hoop junkies, igniting the accidental loveteam "RomYu".
