MANILA--There will be one less big man for Ateneo De Manila as it will face Sto. Tomas on Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

This came as the management of the Blue Eagles suspended sophomore John Apacible for the rest of the second round.

The punishment came after the infamous video of him drunk and claiming he was a “councilor” went viral.

In a text message by team manager Epok Quimpo relayed to various media outfits on Tuesday, Apacible will also be barred from team practices.

Meanwhile, multiple sources say that Ateneo has yet to come with the academic sanctions that will be placed on the former Hope Christian High standout.

Ateneo (5-4) will try to get even at UST (8-1) in their first round loss on Wednesday when games resume at the Big Dome.

The match between the Blue Eagles and the Growling Tigers will take place at 4 p.m. right after the showdown pitting the NU Bulldogs and the Adamson Soaring Falcons at 2 p.m.
