MANILA—Allein Maliksi's career night impressed many PBA fans, enough for the league's press corps to name him the Player of the Week as announced on Monday.
Maliksi led Star to a 96-88 win over Talk 'n Text by exploding for 29 points on a perfect 6-of-6 clip from beyond the arc, a rare feat done by only seven other PBA players.

"The guy is really working hard, being the last one to leave the gym.... And you can see he's playing much better," Coach Jason Webb said on Maliksi's work ethic.
Maliksi beat Ginebra's LA Tenorio, Greg Slaughter, and Japeth Aguilar, Alaska's Vic Manuel, and San Miguel's Junemar Fajardo for the said plum.
