MANILA--The biggest aftereffect of a confrontation between Gary David and Coach Norman Black happened.

Meralco decided to part ways with David almost a week after the said incident in its match against NLEX in which he refused to reenter the game despite Black's orders. The refusal led to a team suspension plus a fine on David as officially meted on Sunday.

Black, a member of the Gilas coaching staff, initially told sportswriters on Monday night right after the practice session that the former Gilas 2 star will stay with the Bolts despite the sanctions.

But on Thursday, the team management eventually decided to hand David the waiver, making him eligible to join another team.

In his place, Meralco reactivated Rey Guevarra in time for the team's match-up against Blackwater on Friday, the match where David was supposed to serve the front end of a two-game ban meted on him as further told by Black.

The Bolts and Elite battle at 4:15 p.m. Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena, preceding the GlobalPort Batang Pier-Star Hotshots clash at 7 p.m.
