PASAY--Kai Sotto aired his side on a photo of him which went viral last week.

The said photo had Sotto posing with former Powerade Tigers manager JB Baylon, former UP Fighting Maroons coach Joe Lipa and player Marvin Cruz while holding a UP sweater, triggering speculations that he is UP-bound for college or at least will join Juan and Jordi Gomez De Liaño at UPIS in high school next UAAP season.

"Wala lang po yun. Pumunta po kami Samar at Tacloban. Ayun, nagkatuwaan po. Wala pong totoo doon," the 6-9 teen beanpole from St. Francis of Assisi told some sportswriters upon earning a Jr. NBA All-Star slot and the MVP award at the end of the youth basketball program's national training camp at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall, effectively denying that he has already committed to the Junior Maroons camp.

In fact, he also clarified that he has yet to make a decision about his high school destination.

"Wala pa po akong sure na school," the son of former St. Francis of Assisi star Ervin Sotto said.

But on his preferred school, the younger Sotto answered, "My family prefers Ateneo."

About winning the MVP title plus the opportunity to get an ultimate NBA experience overseas in his third stint in the Jr. NBA camp, he said, "Masaya po ako. Pinaghirapan ko po ito. Pinaghandaan ko. I give thanks to the Lord kasi binigyan ako ng opportunity at nakuha ko itong award na ito.
