MANILA--Reigning league champions Ceres appointed Serbian Risto Vidakovic as its new manager on Tuesday.
The 47 year-old former centre-back, whose last managerial stint was with Honduras' Motagua three years ago, arrived in the country two days ago and will be taking over from Club Director Ali Go in the second round of the season.
He played for most of his career in Spain, with the six-year stay with Real Betis being the highlight of it, playing for 120 times in La Liga and scoring six goals.
Vidaković has also served for Serbia both as a player and a coach, having been the assistant to Javier Clemente in the ill-fated Euro 2008 qualifying campaign from 2006-07 and followed him to Murcia the following year.
Afterwards, he was also in charge at Cadiz in 2010 and Real Betis' B team from 2011-12.
