PASAY--Rocky Acidre and his pals at EGS have been dominating the NBA 3X tournament for four straight years following their win on Sunday night at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall.

Now that they somewhat established themselves as a "dynasty" in the premier 3X3 tournament by NBA Philippines, the former Arellano Chief now aims at another goal: giving the traditional 5-on-5 game another try.

"[Sa susunod na] taon siguro, maglalaro ako sa D-League," Rocky told Dugout Philippines after he, along with younger brother Rutger, Ian Garrido, and Mark Doligon, successfully defended their men's open championship at the expense of Ako Two Team.

The older Acidre last played for MP Hotel in the D-League in 2015 before concentrating on his day job at EGS.

Now that he is feeling it again, especially after burying a lot of long toms in EGS's semifinal affair with Sto. Niño, Rocky, who went undrafted in the 2014 PBA Draft, hopes that his potential D-League return will help him finally fulfill his long-time dream to make the top flight cagefest.

"Tuluy-tuloy pa rin ako [sa paglalaro] hanggang ngayon. Yan naman ang pangarap ng lahat eh," He shared how he is rebuilding his PBA quest in conclusion.
