RIO DE JANEIRO--While Hidilyn Diaz was still on jubilation after clinching the silver in the Olympic women's 53-kilogram weightlifting event, teammate Nestor Colonia failed to join the party.

Colonia bowed out in the men's 56-kilogram event on Monday (Philippine Time) after failing to register even a single clean-and-jerk lift.

Colonia actually struggled already in the snatch, failing on multiple attempts and settled for a 120-kilogram finish.

Colonia opted to go 154 in the clean-and-jerk but could not clear all his three attempts, thereby ending his first Olympic stint.

Like in Diaz's event, Asians ruled the men's competition as China's Long Qingquan (307 kilograms) took the gold, North Korea's Om Yun-Chol (303 kilograms) grabbed the silver, and Thailand's Sinphet Kruaithong (289 kilograms) settled for the bronze.
