PASAY--The blessings keep on coming for Rio Olympics silver medalist Hidilyn Diaz even if the said games have been history for a nearly a half-month now.
Sen. Koko Pimentel was the latest to give Diaz a "bonus" after her second place finish in weightlifting, which snapped a medal drought that lasted for 20 years.
On Monday, the Senate President gave the female champion lifter at his office PHP500 thousand, which, according to him, came from the Senate savings.
The said money is different from the PHP5 million she got from the PSC and another PHP1.4 million the Congress also gave to her. Likewise, this is apart from an undisclosed amount Sen. Manny Pacquiao will give the Olympian.
Aside from the monetary incentives, Diaz was also given a house and lot.
