MANILA--Jayson Castro played arguably his two best games in the 2016 PBA season this past week, and those impressive outings earned him the Accel-PBA Press Corps Player of the Week award as announced on Monday.
The TNT point guard dropped a season-high 37 points against GlobalPort on Wednesday night, edging fellow Gilas quarterback Terrence Romeo in their head-to-head clash, but none was more important than his assist to Ranidel De Ocampo for the eventual game-winning shot.
Three nights later, Castro played the facilitator in the KaTropa's rout of the San Miguel Beermen, giving away 13 dimes, which turned out to be his most of the year as well.
Castro beat NLEX's Garvo Lanete and Phoenix's Willy Wilson for the said award.
