MANILA—Meralco drafted Ed Daquioag, NLEX took Fonzo Gotladera, and TNT selected RR Pogoy in the special draft for Gilas 5.0 during the PBA Draft at the Robinson's Place Manila Atrium on Sunday.

However, the eventual Gilas draft result is different from how the draft transpired as per earlier reports.

For Daquioag, however, he is fine getting drafted regardless of who takes him in.

"Kahit saan naman na team, OK lang sa akin," the 6-foot-1 combo guard told Dugout Philippines after the draft proper.

He even said that he has nothing to lose PBA Draft-wise even if he was not chosen to the national team pool.

"Plano ko na rin na magpa-draft. Kung di ako nasama sa Gilas, draft na rin talaga," Daquioag continued.

Now officially a part of the Bolts, who came from a breakthrough finals appearance in the Governors' Cup, he reacted, "Excited ako kasi new organization. Hindi ko pa alam kung ano ang pwede kong again dito, but sinabihan ako, 'Basta tiyaga lang.'"

He also sees the tutelage of Coach Norman Black as a challenge for him.

"Coach Norman yan. Grand Slam coach siya," Daquioag explained.
