MANILA--Star and Rain Or Shine will never be the same again after Thursday night.

Both clubs consummated a shocking one-for-one trade with the Hotshots sending superstar James Yap to the Elasto Painters for their own marquee guy, Paul Lee.

The trade, in which initial reports about it have already rocked the PBA community, was approved by Commissioner Chito Narvasa.

The transfer is already a stunning development even before it was made official since ROS has already tendered a three-year max-salary contract offer to Lee only that they need to wait for the return of Lee's agent, Tanduay coach Lawrence Chongson, on Oct. 20.

But now, Lee found himself suiting up for a new team after the trade for Yap, who like Lee has never been with another club prior to the deal.

On the other hand, Yap will have a reunion of sorts with ROS as he played for the club in 2003 when it was still in the PBL.

The said trade came at the heels of a busy trading day for the Elasto Painters as they also sent JR Quiñahan to the GlobalPort Batang Pier for another ex-PBL team member, Jay Washington.
