PASIG—JM Mitra is arguably the most notable player in the Mythical Five of the National Youth Futsal Cup at the UA&P Gym on Saturday.

However, when asked by Dugout Philippines following the announcement, the 13-year-old lad from La Salle-Zobel said that he was surprised that he was selected.

"I didn't think I would make it despite  me getting subbed off in the last two minutes. I still really wanted to play," Mitra admitted.

What made the selection even more surprising was that his club, Malaya, lost in the final to La Salle-Greenhills.

"It was hard, because I really wanted to make up for the loss we had against them before," Mitra lamented.

Despite grabbing all the marbles, no one from Zobel's Mandaluyong counterpart made the Top 5 cut.

Regarding his future endeavor, Mitra, who plays as a striker in the traditional game, bared, "I wanna try out for our UAAP team."

A chance to be trained by Bayern Munich's youth coaches in the Allianz Junior Football Camp in Bali, which is the prize for the NYFC Mythical Selection, will surely be helpful for him to further develop his skills needed to brave the UAAP soccer wars.
