Leyble still sees positives for Laguna despite early PFL woes

By Ivan Saldajeno

BIÑAN--Being a former UFL champion and being consistently in the top five of the defunct play-for-pay football league, many expected Stallion Laguna to at least for a playoff spot in the PFL.

But five matches in, the Laguna side is currently at the bottom of the standings with only two points to show.

In fact, despite being the more aggressive side on Sunday night, Laguna could not find the mark and only had to escape with a draw to Davao on a penalty miss by Niloka Grubsejic at the Biñan Football Stadium.

"We have a bad record right now," Interim Coach Richard Leyble admitted after the game.

For him, however, the club is just beginning to peak.

"We keep on toughening and eliminating our mistakes," he continued.

Stallion Laguna will go to Manila on Saturday to face Meralco Manila in a rematch of the PFL's inaugural match.
