Blu Girls repeat over Canada

LOS BAÑOS--The RP Blu Girls once again stunned Canada with a 6-3 win in the Canada Cup International Softball Championship in Surrey, Canada on Sunday (Philippine Time).

Kailee Cuico opened the scoring for the Blu Girls with a three-run homer in the first inning before Hailey Decker scored two RBI's in the second.

Cuico added another RBI in the fifth inning for a 6-0 count.

Canada tried to mount a comeback in the last two innings but could only come up with three runs.

This is the Blu Girls' second straight win against the host nation, repeating a 4-2 shocker in their first meeting on Wednesday.

“This is the second time that the Blu Girls has beaten powerhouse Canada in this tournament, which proves that our country is getting stronger in the sport. The team has been taking each game to heart,” said ASAPHIL president Jean Henri Lhuillier.

The Blu Girls will next face Puerto Rico on Monday (Philippine Time).
