BIÑAN--A day off a heartbreaking loss to Malaysia, Perlas Pilipinas vented ire on Vietnam through a 118-44 quashing in the SEA Games women's basketball competition at the MABA Stadium in Kuala Lumpur on Friday.
Trailing after the first quarter, Perlas almost shut out Vietnam through a 32-2 second quarter to blow the game wide open. Perlas outscored Vietnam, 98-23, in the final 30 minutes.
Cindy Resultay fired 26 points with three rebounds, three assists, and eight steals, Raiza Dy added 23 points, one assist, and one steal for Perlas, which can still walk away with the silver medal in the tournament pending the results of the remaining games as its stint ends with a 4-2 record.
Thi Ngoan Huynh tallied nine points, five rebounds, one assist, and three steals for Vietnam.
