PASIG--His NSA's representatives may have aced their SEA Games competition.
But for SBP vice chairman Robbie Puno, the Philippines' stint in this year's meet in Kuala Lumpur in general is underwhelming.
"Overall, 24 golds is not a good performance for the team," the former congressman said during a press conference honoring two of the said 24 gold medal winners at the Marco Polo Hotel on Thursday.
Gilas Pilipinas, which swept the men's basketball competition, and Nikko Huelgas, which led the Philippines' 1-2 finish in men's triathlon, were feted in the event hosted by Chooks to Go.
Puno's statement somehow echoed many fans who think the gold medal haul, the least since 1999, is a thing of concern.
However, he clarified, "We did well.... Hopefully, we'll be able to pick up in the next SEA Games."
