Ivan Johnson hopes for redemption in his Alab stint

For Ivan Johnson, he hopes that he will be a changed man when he suits up for Alab

TAGUIG -- Ivan Johnson had his share of bad behavior in his career, especially in his two stints with TNT in the PBA where he fell foul with no less with the commissioner in the second one.

Talking to Dugout Philippines after the launch of the eighth season earlier in the afternoon, the ever temperamental big man brushes off the "bad guy" tags when he hopes to deliver the goods for Alab Pilipinas.

"A bad guy? How is a bad guy that won a championship," Johnson said in reference to the Tropa winning the Commissioner's Cup two years ago, where his coach Jimmy Alapag was the team manager in that grueling seven-game series against Rain Or Shine.

He was also optimistic about his team's composition, in which he hopes that they will glue together as a unit.

"I like the way it's looking. We got a lot of young legs, and got some old legs. If we put the two together, we're gonna make it work," he added, noting that he now has a World Import partner in Reggie Okosa in whom his coach once played against 12 years ago both in Las Vegas and in the Jones Cup.
