PASIG--Coach Tab Baldwin thinks there is one secret that makes collegiate teams from Metro Manila stronger forces against those from the other provinces.

"I think the difference probably between the provincial ball and the Manila ball is the organized pressure defense that the UAAP and the NCAA have," Baldwin said on Thursday night. "That could give the provincial teams a bit of trouble."

That was evident during the Ateneo-NCF game at the Ynares Sports Arena during the PCCL Elite 8.

Midway through the fourth quarter, the Blue Eagles went on a game-turning 10-0 run to open their largest lead at 80-61, rendering the Tigers scoreless for nearly three minutes. The Tigers missed four shots and turned the ball over twice during the said span as the Blue Eagles opened their account with a win.

Still, the former Gilas coach lauded NCF for putting up a fight for most of the contest.

"They played hard. They're quick and competitive. Give a lot of credit to them for never giving up in the game and just battling in the way," Baldwin further said.
