Faker, Score, Peanut reunite as SoKor's '18 Asian Games LoL roster revealed

MANILA (UPDATED) -- Former teammates reunited their forces once again as defending world champions South Korea finally announced their six-man roster for the country's League of Legends (LoL) campaign in the upcoming 2018 Asian Games at Jakarta-Palembang, Indonesia on Thursday.

LoL, alongside with Starcraft II, Hearthstone, Pro Evolution Soccer, and mobile MOBA games Clash Royale and Arena of Valor (AoV) will debut in the said tournament as a demonstration sport for this year's edition before promoting it to a regular contested sport in the 2022 version of the event at Hangzhou, China.


The star-studded Korean lineup is comprised of the following:

HEAD COACH: Choi "Edgar" Woo-beom (Gen.G eSports)

TOP LANE: Kim "Kiin" Gi-in (Afreeca Freecs)
JUNGLE: Go "Score" Dong-bin (KT Rolster), Han "Peanut" Wang-ho (Kingzone DragonX)
MID LANE: Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok (SK Telecom T1)
AD CARRY: Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk (Gen.G eSports)
SUPPORT: Jo "CoreJJ" Yong-in (Gen.G eSports)

With this, Lee, alongside with Han and Go will play again on the same team since 2017 and 2015 All Star Event, respectively. Park and Jo, meanwhile, is their first time teaming up the rest of the squad.

The said tournament will hold preliminary rounds in China in early June. With Indonesia slotted directly in the main event, East Asia will garner three seeds, while Southeast, West, South, and Central Asia will secure one seed only.

Meanwhile, the leagues that have conflicting schedules in the said event will be rescheduled. Otherwise, Riot Games will announce the rescheduled date for the LCK Summer Split on Tuesday.
