But there is still more.

Diaz is also set to get a bunch of benefits as written in the Athletes Benefits and Incentives Law.

Aside from the PHP2 million incentive in the law, Diaz will also get a scholarship grant, free medical and dental consultation, discounts on medicines, equipment, transportation, and lodging, PhilHealth and SSS coverage, housing incentives, and access to training centers and living quarters.

She already got a PHP5 million bonus through the law after taking a silver in the 2016 Olympics, which she used to put up a weightlifting training facility in her hometown in Zamboanga.

Diaz is also set to get another PHP2 million from the POC, PHP1 million from the Siklab Foundation, and another million from Lee Hoong, the Philippine Ambassador in Indonesia.

“Hidilyn’s perseverance and triumph will definitely inspire our young Filipino athletes to also excel in international competitions,” said Senator Sonny Angara, the author of the said law.
