MANILA--Diego Dario was the last notable amateur star that threw his hat to the Philippine Basketball Association Draft, which will happen on Sunday.

Dario, a longtime teammate of Paul Desiderio from the Batang Gilas program to the University of the Philippines, joined Desiderio in making an 11th-hour application for the draft just after their team made a historic return to the UAAP men's basketball finals.

Dario's playmaking skills is something the teams in need of point guard may take a look at come the draft taking place at the Robinson's Place Manila atrium.

In total, 48 players declared for the PBA Draft at the close of the extended draft application period on Monday, and they are expected to be in attendance during the PBA Draft Combine on Wednesday and Thursday at the Gatorade Hoops Center in Mandaluyong.

The final list of the eligible draft applicants will be released on Friday.
