MANILA—Coach Ernie Nierras announced right on the final day of the preseason transfer window that Stallion Laguna signed Jinggoy Valmayor and Michael Simms.
Valmayor and Simms both played college football at the University of the Philippines, enjoying championships in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines under Coach Anto Gonzales.
Valmayor played for Global Cebu last season in the Philippines Football League, now the Philippine Premier League.
But his appearance in Laguna's preseason match against Sabah last week was an apparent sign that Cebu let him go.

Simms, on the other hand, was elevated to the first team after spending some time in the second team, which played in last year's WFL Elite season.
Also, Laguna added another foreign reinforcement in Korean Kang Jong-Min, meaning the club will have 26 players at its midst ahead of the new season.
Nierras earlier announced the signing of Patrick Deyto, OJ and Ian Clariño, Daniel Gadia, Andoni Seuscun, Selu Lozano, Joshua Kim, and Kim Dong-Hyeon.
