MANILA—Rafa Nadal Academy scholars Alex Eala and Elvina Kalieva breezed past American pair Elizabeth Coleman and Kailey Evans, 7-5, 6-1, to start their campaign at the opening round of the junior girls' doubles of the 2019 US Open at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, Wednesday (Manila time).
Eala and Kalieva are both victorious in their second straight match in two days after winning each of their respective matches in the first round of the singles tournament on Tuesday.

The Filipino-American duo will next face Aubane Droguet and Selena Janicijevic of France.
