QUEZON CITY--Riga Ghetto claimed the championship of the Chooks-To-Go FIBA 3x3 Manila Challenger after beating Lyon in the final, 21-20, at the SM Fairview Events Center on Sunday.

Nauris Miezis won it for the Latvian side, ranked number two in the world, with a game-winning layup with 1:30 left to end Lyon's comeback bid.

Banked on a hot start, Riga eventually took a 19-13 lead with 3:10 left.

But Lyon, which needed two comeback wins earlier in the playoffs including one against Pasig Chooks in the quarterfinals, went on a late rally to tie the game, 20-all, with 1:38 remaining, eventually sending it to golden goal.

That golden goal came from Miezis, who quickly found an opening inside for the go-ahead layup to complete the finish.

Riga booked a ticket in the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Jeddah Masters while also taking home US$15,000 (almost PHP771,000).

Lyon, on the other hand, settled for a US$10,000 (nearly PHP514,000) runner-up prize.
