LIPA--Stephan Schrock got the top individual prize for the Philippines Football League season.

At the presentation of the special awards on Saturday night at the Aboitiz Pitch here, the Ceres Negros team captain was presented the Golden Ball award for being the Most Valuable Player of the season.

Schrock, who is concurrently the skipper for the national team as well, did the trick with his splendid playmaking ability, assisting on 21 of the club's 93 earned goals discounting the six goals it attained through two forfeiture wins against Global Makati, which is way ahead of teammate Robert Mendy's 10 in the top dimer race.

Fellow Ceres Negros star Roland Muller also walked away with an individual award as he was named the best goalkeeper of the season and was handed the Golden Glove for conceding the least goals throughout the season.

Overall, the club only gave up 12 goals all season long.

Kaya Iloilo's Jordan Mintah prevented Ceres Negros from sweeping the individual awards as he was named the best scorer for the year.

Although he was blanked in Kaya Iloilo's loss to Ceres Negros earlier Saturday, Mintah still finished the season with 31 goals, just ahead of Ceres Negros' Bienve Maranon, who had 30.

Maranon decided to take some time off for nearly a month, opening an opportunity for Mintah to overtake him in the goal scoring list.

Maranon did score in his comeback game on Saturday night, but his one-goal showing was not enough as he actually needed a brace to at least share the honor with Mintah.
