PASAY--The Pasay Voyagers (16-12) have an inside track for the last spot in the MPBL Northern Division Playoffs as they hold a one-game lead over the Caloocan Supremos (15-13) in the team standings.

With Caloocan holding the tiebreaker over Pasay due to its 78-72 win on July 23, the latter needs to win both its last two games to qualify outright.

However, the Voyagers' next battle is against a tough opponent in the Basilan Steel, a team looking to seal the third seed in the Southern Division playoffs.

Good thing for Pasay, the game will be held at its home, the Cuneta Astrodome, as well as its final regular season game against Mindoro on Feb. 4, and for Coach Marlon Martin, it will be very advantageous for his squad.

"Malaking morale booster yun para makuha namin yung hinahanap namin na panalo, Martin said after the Voyagers' win against the Makati Skyscrapers on Tuesday night which actually started a three-game home stand.

He also expressed gladness that the city government here, which manages the arena, has been there for his team.

"Very very supportive yung LGU natin, so malaking bagay para sa amin na dito ginawa yung laro," Martin continued. "It's a big advantage for us."
