MANILA—As a condition for the reinstatement of his professional athlete license, the Games and Amusements Board required Calvin Abueva to attend a seminar regarding the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards of a Professional Athlete and undergo a mandatory drug test.

However, Abueva is now in his hometown of Angeles for the upcoming PBA bubble starting on Oct. 11.

GAB commissioner Ed Trinidad admitted that his agency is expecting Abueva to come to its office in Makati.

"Ang unang napagusapan namin, pupunta siya ng GAB office. Doon siya mag-seminar and medical," GAB Trinidad said in a text message to Dugout Philippines on Friday, right after Chairman Baham Mitra announced the license reinstatement.

Eventually, both parties agreed that the two requirements for the formality of Abueva's new license will be done in the bubble.

"Sa Zoom na lang ang seminar niya at yung medical at drug test niya will be conducted by either the PBA doctor or ng Phoenix team doctor," Trinidad continued.

He then said that the physician who will take Abueva's medical tests will submit the result to GAB's own doctor, who will then verify it so that the Fuel Master can finally get his license.

Trinidad also said that a GAB staff will go to the PBA bubble to have Abueva sign the Code of Conduct.
