MANILA--Meralco believes that they and Blackwater got what they want in the approved Mac Belo-Baser Amer trade.

"We believe this trade is beneficial to both teams and will provide both [Amer and Bryan Faundo] competitive environments to showcase their talents," the Bolts said in a statement on Thursday, moments after the PBA announced the approval of the swap for Belo.

While the team soon to be called the Bossing still has Roi Sumang, the Ever Bilena franchise may have just got its main man at the point guard spot in Baser Amer.

"I've been with Baser for a long time, so it was difficult to come to this decision," Meralco coach Norman Black said in a separate statement

On the other hand, Meralco got another winger in Belo, although he is now expected to share playing time with fellow small forwards Allein Maliksi and Bong Quinto.

"We recruited Mac Belo because our front court is one of the areas where we need depth," Black further said.

Black's comments can be considered intriguing as the Bolts gave up one of their frontline contributors in Faundo.

But the multi-titled mentor added, "To gain something of value, you unfortunately must lose something of value."

Black further said, "He's been with us for five years, and Bryan has been a really important part of the Bolts."

Now, Blackwater has another big man to bolster its interior in Faundo.
