QUEZON CITY--TNT repulsed a late run from San Miguel in the fourth quarter to move closer to a second straight PBA Philippine Cup title through a 102-93 Game 5 win on Wednesday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Tropang Giga found themselves in trouble of losing a double-digit lead after the Beermen came to within four from as high as 11, 91-95, entering the last two minutes of the game.

However, TNT's veteran centers Poy Erram and Kelly Williams delivered clutch baskets just as the game reached the twilight zone to close out SMB.

Mikey Williams led the Tropang Giga, who can close out the series on Friday night, with 23 points, four rebounds, and five assists

The other Williams, Kelly, added 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting including 4-for-6 on threes, nine rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

June Mar Fajardo put up 20 markers, 16 boards, and two dimes for the Beermen, who now need to take Game 6 to force a deciding game on Sunday night.
