MANILA—Bay Area made a formal introduction to the PBA with the same way as how it dominated the competition during its tune-up games, zapping Blackwater, 133-87, to start the mid-season Commissioner's Cup on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.

The Dragons, a guest team for the conference as they prepare for the upcoming EASL season, quickly shut down the Bossing en route to a 64-36 halftime, tying the largest halftime lead of this PBA year.

The Hong Kong-based squad coached by Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist Brian Goorjian never looked back from there.

Myles Powell had a scintillating PBA debut with 41 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and one steal for Bay Area.

Glen Yang added 22 points, five rebounds, seven assists, and one steal for the Dragons, who went 9-0 in their preseason matches including 3-0 against the same Ever Bilena franchise.

Ato Ular continued where he left off from the Philippine Cup, leading Blackwater with 13 points and 14 rebounds.

Cameron Krutwig came close to a triple-double in his own PBA debut, putting up 11 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists with one block.

Trevis Jackson put up eight markers, one board, one dime, and two swipes in his first game as a Bossing, while Gab Banal went scoreless in his first Blackwater game, although he had one rebound and three assists.

Troy Rosario, the superstar Blackwater got from the three-team trade with NLEX and TNT earlier this week, sat out the conference opener.
