MANILA—San Miguel booked the first semifinal seat in the PBA Governors' Cup after pipping Converge, 121-105, in their quarterfinal battle on Sunday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Despite an explosive outing from Tom Vodanovich, the Beermen ousted the FiberXers from contention behind a third-quarter blast.

After Converge took a 58-57 halftime lead, SMB responded with a 37-24 third quarter to go up, 94-82, before holding on in the fourth.

Cameron Clark led the Beermen, who will face the winners of another quarterfinal tie between Barangay Ginebra and the NLEX Road Warriors, with 40 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, and one block.

CJ Perez added 26 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, five steals, and one block, while Vic Manuel contributed 20 points on a perfect 9-for-9 field goal shooting, four rebounds, two assists, and one steal.

In his first game back at "The Big Dome" since last year's dominant showing for New Zealand against Gilas Pilipinas in the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, Vodanovich put up 39 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and one steal to lead the FiberXers, who ended their debut PBA season with another quarterfinal exit.
