MANILA—Poypoy Actub played his best performance so far in his first season as a professional basketball player as he led Imus to the biggest blowout in the ongoing MPBL season, a 125-66 win against skidding Bulacan on Wednesday night at the City of Imus Sports Complex.
Actub came close to a 30-point triple-double, finishing with a career-high 31 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists on top of three steals.
Highlighting Actub's domination was the seven times he punished his homecourt's rim with his high-flying skills, setting an MPBL record for the most dunks by a player in a single game.
Mark Guillen added 16 points on 8-for-10 field goals and seven rebounds for the SV Squad, who finally won at home after three tries by dominating the Kuyas through solid execution that led to 43 assists on 56 made field goals and eight free throws against five turnovers.
Jaymar Gimpayan and Junjie Hallare put up 14 markers each with Gimpayan also grabbing 13 boards for Imus, which moved up to seventh place in the Southern Division with a 10-11 record.
Rence Alcoriza put up 23 points and three assists for Bulacan, which slid further to 6-16.
