MANILA—Quezon reciprocated Zamboanga's defense on them in the second quarter with a solid defensive showing of its own in the second half to steal a 65-58 road win in Game 2 of their MPBL South Division first round series on Saturday night at the Vitaliano Agan Coliseum in Zamboanga City.

With their backs against the wall, Quezon turned to its hot offense and took a 25-18 lead against Zamboanga.

However, Zamboanga held Quezon to just five points in the second quarter and led, 33-30, at the half to the delight of the sold-out crowd.

In the third period, though, Quezon limited Zamboanga to just 10 points and outscored them, 23-15, in the fourth to walk away victorious.

Alfrancis Tamsi led Quezon, which forced a Game 3 against Zamboanga next Saturday, with 13 points, two rebounds, one assist, and one steal.

Ximone Sandagon, Rodel Gravera, and Prince Rivero each added 10 points.

Jaycee Marcelino made 19 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and three steals to lead Zamboanga, which lost homecourt edge with the loss coupled with Bacoor City's blowout win against Iloilo to tie their own best-of-three series.

The rubber match will be played before the Iloilo-Bacoor City decider at the Bacoor City STRIKE Gymnasium.
