MAKATI--Two days before the start of the PBA Philippine Cup, Blackwater swung a trade with NLEX that would see Brandon Rosser returning home.
The Road Warriors announced on Monday that they sent the high-flying forward back to the Bossing in exchange for Ato Ular and Yousef Taha.
NLEX also acquired Blackwater's first-round pick for the PBA Season 51 Draft scheduled for 2026.
The Bossing selected Rosser with the first pick of the 2022 PBA Draft and seemed to be their new franchise cornerstone.
However, on Sept. 19, 2022, Blackwater traded the six-foot-six forward to NLEX in a three-team trade that eventually sent Calvin Oftana to TNT and Troy Rosario to Blackwater.
Rosser had relatively quiet stats during the PBA Commissioner's Cup, averaging 8.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Brandon for his unwavering dedication and contributions during his three remarkable conferences with NLEX,” said Road Warriors team governor Ronald Dulatre in a statement.
“His time as a Road Warrior will forever be cherished, and we wish him the best of luck with his next team. Brandon will always hold a special place in the NLEX family.”
Although they lost Rosser, the Metro Pacific Tollways franchise still bolstered its frontline by acquiring Ular, who was stellar in his rookie season for Blackwater, and Taha, a serviceable veteran bruiser.
