MAKATI—AP Bren repeated its domestic dominance over Blacklist International in an early rematch of last season's grand finals to cap Night 1 of the MPL Philippines Season 13 on Friday at the Shooting Gallery Studios.
In a tale of two contrasting styles, AP Bren showed why they are not just the national champions but also the world champs by proving they can win at any match's tempo.
AP Bren made quick work of Game 1 and finished off Blacklist after barely 16 minutes of action.
Blacklist, though, had chances to force Game 3 as Stephen Castillo, playing as Nolan, stole the Lord twice and eventually made some push.
However, Blacklist's resilience finally lost steam as AP Bren made sure Castillo would not be able to steal the Lord again and finished them off at the 33:30 mark of the game.
AP Bren was off to a good start to the domestic season fresh from ruling the Games of the Future event in Russia earlier this year.
