MANILA--Blackwater pulled off the first shocker of the PBA Philippine Cup after edging TNT, 87-76, on Saturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

The Bossing bucked the early loss of Rey Nambatac and turned to their defense to stun the Tropang Giga, holding them to just 39 percent shooting even as they slowly improved on their offense within the second and third quarters to pull away.

Troy Rosario led Blackwater, now 2-0 in the conference, with 20 points, six rebounds, one assist, and one steal.

RK Ilagan came just close to a triple-double with 15 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists with two steals and one block off the bench.

Calvin Oftana led TNT, which fell to 1-1, with 21 points, four rebounds, and four assists.
