MAKATI - ECHO proves that they are still among the favorites in MPL Philippines as they trample a new-look ONIC Philippines squad in Week 1 Day 2 of the regular season, Saturday.
Coach Harold "Tictac" Reyes opted to field his main five against the Sonics, who will have the services of Grant Duane "Kelra" Pillas and King Cyric "K1NGKONG" Perez for their first time under the yellow banner.
ECHO started their game with a close 13-8 affair against ONIC, with Benedict "Bennyqt" Gonzales starring in the first match with seven kills and three assists with the Claude.
Sanford "Sanford" Vinuya added three kills and four assists with the Benedetta, while Frince Miguel "Super Frince" Ramirez led ONIC with three kills and five assists with the Nana.
The Orcas went on to snowball the second game in 14 minutes, scoring 11 kills against just two from the Sonics, with Karl Gabriel "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno's X.Borg flex pick tallying six kills and four assists.
K1NGKONG found himself being the prime target, going down four times and only assisting once with the Fredrinn, as Jem "JEM" Lanojan and Jomearie "Escalera" Delos Santos contributing one kill each for the team.
ONIC PH will try to bounce back against a resurging RSG Philippines, while ECHO will see Smart Omega, both on a Sunday.
