PBA: George King saves best for last with 64-point outburst as Blackwater stuns QF-bound ROS

MANILA--Although his team is already out of contention, George King still wanted to put up a show in what could be his last game in the PBA Governors' Cup.

King erupted for 64 points in his swan song at least for this conference as Blackwater ended its campaign with a 139-118 blowout stunner against quarterfinal-bound Rain Or Shine in the final game of the group stages on Monday night at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

In the high-scoring game, the Bossing's game-turning point came in the second quarter after holding the Elasto Painters to only 17 points to open a 70-54 halftime lead.

Although ROS drew to within six early in the third quarter, Blackwater pulled away later in the period and never looked back.

King went 18-of-35 from the field for all his points even as he also had 13 rebounds, two assists, and one steal for the Bossing, who finished the conference with an even 5-5 record.

Sedrick Barefield added 21 points, two rebounds, four assists, and two steals.

Jhonard Clarito put up 18 points, seven rebounds, one assist, and one steal for ROS, which braces for a quarterfinal showdown against Magnolia beginning Wednesday night back at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
