MANILA—Terrafirma smothered Converge in overtime to score a huge 111-100 upset win in their PBA Commissioner's Cup clash on Saturday night at the Ynares Center 2 in Rodriguez, Rizal.
Continuing from a solid second half, the Dyip held the FiberXers scoreless for the entire five-minute extension to steal the victory while scoring 11 to break a 100-all deadlock at the end of regulation.
Terrafirma ended the game on a 13-0 run, actually, as Ali Mubashar forced overtime with a backdoor layup with 16.6 seconds left in regulation.
Converge had a chance to close it out after 48 minutes, but Balti Baltazar opted to go for a jumper that only hit the front iron before the final buzzer of regulation sounded.
Mubashar finished with a monster game of 50 points, 25 rebounds, two assists, three blocks, and one steal for the Dyip, who are now 2-0 to start the conference.
The seven-foot giant became the first player to hit 50-20 since former Phoenix import Eugene Phelps did so in 2018.
Jerrick Ahanmisi added 14 points on four threes, two rebounds, and five assists.
Kylor Kelley and Juan Gomez De Liaño each put up 17 markers for the now 1-1 FiberXers, with Kelley also tallying 22 rebounds.
